You should never compete or fight with anyone.
Ever.
But what does this mean?
Steer clear of winners’ podiums.
In your personal life…
If everyone is competing for the highest GPA— don’t.
If everyone is competing for the same job— don’t.
There is no advantage in doing what everyone else is doing.
You risk a fate worse than death, living the same boring life as millions of others.
In startups…
If your competitors are building similar new product features…
Don’t build those features.
If your competitors are running Facebook ads….
Don’t run Facebook ads.
The surest road to failure is copying and competing with others.
Those that “compete” lose their vision and pricing power.
If you have “competitors”, redefine yourself until you are unique.
If you have to ask yourself…
“Fight or Flight?”
The answer is always flight.
Many startups describe their competition as a “knife fight”.
Don’t get in knife fights.
Run away and come back with bigger guns.
A “fight” means a battle is close.
Never “fight”— only annihilate.
Victory should always be assured.
If not, rebuild your strategy.
If you ever hear a startup or person described as “competitive”— think “loser”.
True winners never “compete”.
Like bringing a fighter jet to a knife fight, it’s never close— winners just win.
It’s a one-sided annihilation.
If winning isn’t easy for you…
